How old do you need to be to hire a boat?
18 years of age and we will need to see approporiate photo identification ( without ID we cannot hire to you.)
Where can I travel in the river?
Before the hire we show you a map of the river and our restricted areas, shallow waters, public toilets and information on tides etc. See company policy for map.
What is the best bait to use?
We stock Tweed Bait Products at the marina and also have yabbie pumps available to hire if you would like to catch a little fresh bait.
Do children count as adults on the BBQ boats?
Yes they do, Our BBQ boats are restricted to a certain amount of passengers and all passengers including pick-ups must be recorded on the hire form. If exceeded then loss of deposit will occur.
Never driven a boat before?
That's okay because you will be given a full run down on the boat and how to use it by one of our friendly staff members.
Do you need to pay for fuel or gas on our BBQ boats?
No, all is included in the hire
Can you hire a BBQ boat for half a day?
Yes, but only on the day of hire, if available. Different rates will apply.
Do you need a boat licence?
No, all our boats are restricted hire drive and only do about 6 - 8 knots.
Do I need a fishing licence?
In NSW waterways yes, but all our boat have fishing permits.
If not hiring then you can purchase a 3 day river only permit in our shop.
Where is the best spots to fish and swim?
Our friendly, customer focused staff have general knowledge of some great spots to check out on the day. This all depends on the tides and weather.
Can you bring the family dog along?
Sure you can, we would love to meet your furry family member.
Is safety gear provided?
Yes, all safety gear is provided. Children under 12 years of age must wear a life jacket at all times. This is provided and fitted before entering the vessel.
Do you sell bait and ice?
We most certaninly do and many more items that you might have forgotten or need
Can you travel to Murwillumbah, Chindreah or Cook Island?
No, we have restricted zones which you are shown before boarding the boat.
